CHERRY ALMOND COFFEE CAKE

Coffee cakes are one of my favorite things to make - so homey somehow! 

 

2 cups flour

1 tsp. baking powder

1 tsp. baking soda

1/2 tsp. salt

1/2 cup margarine

1 cup sugar

2 eggs

1 tsp. vanilla

1/2 tsp. almond extract

1 cup sour cream

1 cup cherry pie filling

1/2 cup sliced almonds

 

Grease an 8" springform pan. Mix first four ingredients together. Mix margarine and sugar together. Add eggs; beat in extracts. Add flour and sour cream. Spoon 1/2 batter into pan. Add 1/2 cherry pie filling and swirl it thru. Spoon remaining batter evenly over. Put on rest of filling, but don't swirl. Sprinkle almonds over. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 - 60 minutes.
