SIMPLE SALISBURY STEAK

Sister Angela Drake

Houston Ecclesia, Texas

1 lb. lean ground beef

2 cans condensed cream of mushroom soup

1/3 cup dry plain bread crumbs

1/4 cup finely chopped onion

1 egg beaten

1 tablespoon vegetable oil

1/2 cup milk

In a large bowl mix 1/4 cup of the soup, ground beef, bread crumbs, onion and egg. Shape into 6 oval patties of even thickness. In a large skillet over medium high heat, cook patties in hot oil until browned on both sides. Remove from skillet. In the same skillet stir in remaining soup and milk. Return patties to skillet, reduce heat to low. Cover and cook 25-30 minutes or until patties are cooked through.

I use all low fat ingredients such as 1/2% milk instead of whole milk, egg beaters, and 98% fat free Healthy Request Campbells condensed soup. The recipe is delicious with these substitutions.
